We're Hiring: Part-Time Director of Youth Ministries

In collaboration with our fellow Tower Grove-area churches Oak Hill Presbyterian and Compton Heights Christian, we're seeking to hire a part-time Director of Youth Ministries. Take a look at the job description, and share with anyone you believe might be a good fit.
The Concept
A shared youth ministry of local congregations in the Tower Grove Area, including Oak Hill Presbyterian Church, St. John’s Episcopal Church, and Compton Heights Christian Church.
Oversight
A Leadership Team will be created with youth and adult representatives and clergy from all three congregations.
Role and Responsibilities
The role of Director of Youth Ministries will be part-time (10 hours per week).  The Director of Youth Ministries will:
  • Work with all three congregations to create two youth groups: Middle School and High School.  This includes hosting a bi-monthly meeting of each group and appropriate preparation as well as regular service related projects.  
  • Encourage active support from the congregations.
  • Meet monthly with the clergy from all three congregations.  Provide a monthly written report.
  • Develop a bond for and with the youth to encourage faith growth.
  • Determine a range of activities that include:  faith foundation, community building, social justice, mission work, leadership development with progressive theology.
  • Manage Youth Ministries funds and financial records. 
Compensation

The Director of Youth Ministries will receive a stipend of $10,000 to $12,000 per year, depending on experience,  and mileage reimbursement.

  • College Education
  • Active member of a local church
  • Detail oriented self-starter who takes initiative
  • Social media skills
  • Experience with leadership/support in youth programs
  • Strong collaborator, coordinator, and communication skills
  • Able to pass background check/valid driver’s license
