Choir
The music at St. John’s seeks to be a channel of God’s grace by:
- inspiring both the choir and congregation to sing with mind and heart;
- encouraging singers to offer their best in worship;
- embracing the rich heritage of Anglican church music, and passing that heritage on to future generations;
- exploring creative and new ways to express faith in God through music.
Our choral sound is rooted in the Anglican tradition, and is an important part of worship in the Episcopal Church. It forms part of the liturgy, and consists of pieces written to be sung by the choir, either a capella or accompanied by the organ.
The choir sings regularly for the Sunday Holy Eucharist service from September through June. It consists of men and women volunteers, and is always looking for new members. The Choir rehearses an evening each week and before the service on Sunday morning. If you're interested in participating in the Choir, contact Music committee chair Gina Malone at [email protected].
