UPDATE: The St. Louis Post-Dispatch also has a photo collection from our event: take a look! Earlier this afternoon, members of the St. John's congregation and clergy gathered with neighbors, other priests and deacons, and Bishop-elect Deon Johnson, to pray and reflect together about the use of St. John's - Lafayette Square (Washington, DC), as a political backdrop earlier in the week. Both Bishop-elect Johnson, and the Revered Mike Angell of the Church of the Holy Communion (University City) spoke passionately about not only the events of the week, but also the larger cultural context framing the current unrest. Thank you to all who attended. We hope this is the beginning of a long, hard, productive discussion.
