About St. John's, Tower Grove

St. John's is located in the heart of Tower Grove Heights

Together, we're moving forward in ministry for the Life of the World! (John 6:33)

  • Deciding to Grow
  • Worshiping God in Christ
  • Nurturing our Faith
  • Serving our Neighbors in Tower Grove and the Wider World

Tower Grove Heights is a revitalized, resurgent area along South Grand and Arsenal, just across the street from beautiful Tower Grove Park. St. John's, Tower Grove, has been in Tower Grove Heights since 1907, through thick and thin. We are thrilled that we are now just around the corner from the Grand South Grand - one of the most interesting, diverse business districts in the City of St. Louis.

Inside St. John's, Tower Grove, you will encounter a welcoming community of folks from a variety of backgrounds - including young and old, dressed up and dressed down, black and white, partnered and single. There is a place for everyone at St. John's. It is God's house and God welcomes everyone. To quote Jon Acuff, "The church should be the first place you feel safe enough to express doubts, ask questions & be a mess, not the last."

The center of our life together is worship - worship with Holy Eucharist, or communion. At the largest service - the 10:30 a.m. service on Sunday morning - the worship service includes singing together, listening to readings from the Hebrew and Christian scriptures, a sermon, prayers, and communion. Professional childcare is available during the service. From September through May, children ages 3 and up are invited to attend Godly Play, a Montessori Sunday School program. All children join the second half of the 10:30 am service for the Peace and Communion. Children are always welcome to participate in the entire service. For more, please visit Worshiping.

After the 10:30 a.m. service, we share refreshments and fellowship at "Coffee Hour" in the Parish Hall. From September through May, Christian Formation is offered throughout the week for children, youth, and adults.

St. John's is more than a church - it is a community center, a safe place for all people to gather, and an architectural jewel of Tower Grove Heights.
