Teaching
Jesus' disciples often called him rabbi, or teacher. As Christians, we continue to learn from Jesus - as we discover him in Scripture, in worship, in our experiences, and in conversation. The journey of faith is life-long and requires life-long nurturing, or learning. At St. John's, teaching and learning takes many forms.
Christian Formation Opportunities for Adults and Children are offered from September - May. On Sunday mornings, Adult Christian Formation takes place from 9:00 - 10:00 a.m. See Adult Education for the current calendar.
Mid-week Adult Christian events throughout the year include Small Groups (Dinner & Discussion) on Wednesdays from 6:30 - 8:00 p.m. in people's homes. See Adult Education for the current calendar.
Children’s Christian Formation Opportunities
Children's Christian Formation at St. John's - We offer "Godly Play" - a montessori-style curriculum for children 3 - 12. Godly Play begins at 10:30 a.m. The children join the Sunday Morning Worship Service in time for Communion, at approximately 11:15 a.m. Professionally staffed Childcare for infants and toddlers is available from 9:00 a.m. - 12 noon. We take our children's care and safety very seriously. See our Policies for Children for more information.
We are looking for members of St. John's interested in becoming storytellers and doorkeepers for Godly Play. We also need volunteers to make, build, and/or buy materials for the Godly Play classrooms. For more information on Godly Play, please contact Vestry Members Susan Brower-Toland at suescbt@gmail.com or Gina Malone at ginamalone23@gmail.com.
