Teaching and Fellowship

Nurturing one another in our lives as Christians has many components - including Teaching and Fellowship. Worshipping and Serving are also important aspects of our faith journey together.

Teaching includes Christian education for children, youth, and adults.

Adult education usually takes place from 11:20 a.m. - 12:20 p.m. every Sunday from September through May; there are also mid-week Adult Education opportunities on Wednesday evenings at 6:30 p.m. throughout the year. See Adult Education for the current Adult education schedule. There are also lots of opportunities for broader adult education through the Diocese of Missouri's Episcopal School for Ministry.

Children & Adults are Invited to

Children's Christian Formation Opportunities

"AAA Trainings" - February 21 & 28. The workshops will take place from 11 a.m. - 1 p.m. with lunch. These trainings are intended to help us to become more Authentic, Available, and Affirming Christians. Specifically, to help all of us to learn how to nurture our children and raise them into the full stature of Christ. There is more information about the training here:

Save the Date! There will be a Trivia Night fundraiser on Saturday, April 17 to raise money to renovate our Children's Classrooms & Nursery. Time & Location TBD. We will begin Godly Play - a montessori based Sunday School curriculum in the fall of 2010. More details soon.

Ideally, fellowship happens in all of our gatherings, including St. John's famous church Barbeques, the Gen X Spirituality Discussion Group, the Lenten Dinner and Bible Study Program, and picnics in Tower Grove Park. Fellowship requires building relationships - with each other and with all whom we meet, especially our neighbors in Tower Grove Heights.

Jesus also said, "With what can we compare the kingdom of God, or what parable will we use for it? It is like a mustard seed, which, when sown upon the ground, is the smallest of all the seeds on earth; yet when it is sown it grows up and becomes the greatest of all shrubs, and puts forth large branches, so that the birds of the air can make nests in its shade." (Gospel of Mark, 4: 30-32)

Elissa: Will you continue in the apostle's teaching and fellowship, in the breaking of bread and in the prayers? We will, with God's help! (Baptismal Covenant)
