St. John's nave, or main church, is filled with beautiful, historic details. The pews, the Eagle Lectern, and the High Altar date from the 1860's and have resided in at least three church buildings. The pulpit was built in the 1890's and given to St. John's on "permanent loan" from St. Peter's when that church moved from Olive Street, west of Grand Avenue, to Ladue in the 1950's.
